The Sun amp Moon Bredonborough

19.17

The Sun & Moon. Bredonborough.

A wonderful day at home with The Luvvie, and mostly superb weather. Backtracking --

Friday 23rd. April: An afternoon late-lunching with Sister, then traveling.

The Nashville>Chicago was delayed by an hour, but the connection made. On the Chicago>London flight: a Mr.Sniify with wife & baby in the same row, on the other side of the aisle from me against the bulkhead.

Any one who has traveled on long haul with children, their own or in close proximity to those of others, quiver with fear when boarding & seeing a little person of exceptional youth. This is called expectation. About one hour into the window of sleep-opportunity for me, the baby began practising a high amplitude, high frequency vocal workout, subjectively experienced by me as pain. And that was with ear plugs. In other words, a horrific bawling for some two hours. Perhaps this embarrassed the father.

One row from first class, this was perhaps also regrettable for those who had paid huge amounts of money to sleep in the air. Even for a working player such as myself, one who had upgraded with miles, sharing the joy of this child with its parents was an opportunity I would not, however, transfer to another. With the possible exception of a former manager of my acquaintance.

Saturday 24th. April: Landing to a gorgeous day & a straightforward drive to Bredonborough where The Luvvie was waiting. A wonderful day with Toyah: walking down the High Street to the cake shop; sitting in the garden; walking to the top of Bredon Hill with its bouncing, bleating lambikins, and finding one little creature stuck between a gate & gatepost. We tried to lift the little beast out, but it was wedged too tightly; so we called into the farmhouse at the foot of Bredon.
